In the epic conclusion to the Supernatural Prison trilogy, Jessa Lebron finds herself trapped in the palace of Larkspur, the dragon king. Of course, it’s impossible not to dig deeper into the curse of the dragon mark. As more information is uncovered, she starts to understand why she, of all supernaturals, was the one to be singled out. And this changes everything she thought she knew. Turns out she doesn’t know a damn thing.

This book was the perfect end to the trilogy. Not only was there plenty of action, - Jessa was a very busy girl- but we learned so much more about the origins of the Dragon Marked curse and about the dragons and the Shining ones (the Fae Gods). I was very impatient for answers in book 2, and I got way more than I expected and I love how it all came together. We meet a couple of new characters which round out the story well, and of course the Dragon King is actually a major player in this one rather than some distant threat. Jessa and the Compasses face some big challenges, and kick some serious butt.
There were so many 'omg wow' and 'wait what?!' moments, and learning all of the forgotten secrets about the dragon king and his curse really filled in the story. I loved it. A very satisfying ending (but with room for some spin-offs 😉).
If you enjoyed the first two books in the series, you will not be disappointed! Jaymin Eve really knows how to write a good ending. 4.5 stars.

I didn’t want to give spoilers in this review because there is SO MUCH new information, and if you’ve read the first two books I think it will be better if you find out for yourself, so it’s safe to keep reading.
We begin with Jessa trapped in the Larkspur's (AKA Larky AKA the Dragon King) castle, where she has to find a way to escape, get to the shining ones, and find a way to kill Larky in order to save all of the supernatural races. No pressure. She also has to not get killed on the way, with the help of her best friends the Compass quads of course.
Jessa manages all of this in her unique badass butt-kicking wolf-dragon-shifter way, finally making a proper connection with her dragon, and learning why she is different to the other dragon marked. (The title of the book has a double meaning 😮)
Braxton is super protective - and gets his dragon rage on a bunch - but is also super sweet to Jessa, and I like that this book feels less reverse-haremy than the first book in the series. (I got the same RH vibe from another book by Jaymin Eve, House of Darken in the Secret Keepers series, but she tends to always end up with a true mate, like in this one). I liked that there is more focus on Jessa and Braxton. Obviously it was always going to be Braxton, he's an awesome dragon shifter, duh. Although they don’t get to spend a whole lot of time together, I enjoyed seeing their bond strengthen.

I thought the final big battle scene was really well written with loads of action, though the focus stayed on Jessa so you got the crazy battle feel without too much extra detail. There were some big surprises and a happy (but also a little bit heart-breaking) ending. I found it a very satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. We beat the big bad, Jessa gets her happily ever after, and we also have the setup for the next book about Maximus Compass, the vampire brother, Broken Compass. Looking forward to reading it as well as the new Supernatural Academy spin-off (which is getting made into a TV show, what?). I’ll be hoping to see some glimpses of Jessa and Braxton in the follow-up books, *fingers crossed*.
