Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. If you are interested in joining in on the fun go to That Artsy Reader Girl to see upcoming prompts for Top Ten Tuesday!
This weeks prompt for TTT is Book Cover Freebie, so I had to pick something to do with book covers. I love love love pretty book covers, but there are just so many good ones that I had to limit it somehow. To that end, I made it only book covers that are on my shelf, in paperback, otherwise there would just be too many to pick from. Some of these are older books I've had for years and still just love. So here you go, my prettiest book covers, in no particular order, enjoy.
Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier
I actually got this book signed by the author 😄I read it years ago and I loved it so much, I read it multiple times, and I could stare at the cover for ages, there is so much beautiful detail in it. I love the magic of this world.
Dreamer's Pool by Juliet Marillier
Clearly I'm a fan of Juliet Marillier. She writes absolutely stunning Historical Fantasies with fae and fairy tale elements. This series is on my TBR for 2020, I just love the style of all her covers, but I think this is one of the best.
Demon Magic and a Martini by Annette Marie
This is actually the only one of this series that I own in paperback. I've been reading the rest on Kindle or from the library, but I just had to buy this one because it's my favourite cover of the series (so far). How cool is it?!
Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs
It was hard to pick which cover from this series was my favourite, but I just think this one is so cool! Part of my reading goals for this year is to do a re-read of the Mercy Thompson series, the books that introduced me to urban fantasy.
Wolf Speaker by Tamora Pierce and Trickster's Choice by Tamora Pierce
I read all of Tamora Pierce's books when I was growing up. I was obsessed with them, and I read them over and over. These books stoked my love for historical fantasy and were some of the first books I read with romance. I just think these two are the prettiest covers in the various series because of the colours and the style.
One Fell Sweep by Ilona Andrews
I'm totally not picking this as a pretty cover because I'm obsessed with the story. Nope, totally objective. I do love how atmospheric this cover is though. The latest novella in the series has the absolute prettiest cover though, which I'll be getting in paperback at some point. Go check it out: Sweep With Me.
Trickery by Jaymin Eve and Jane Washington
I have a signed copy of this one yay! All the covers in this series are soooo pretty but this is the only one I have in paperback. I got all the others on Kindle because I was too impatient. At least that made my decision making easier. If you haven't read this series, go read it! It's amazing and funny and just gorgeous.
Oh no, I can only pick two more, this is so hard!
Two books with totally different styles of cover to finish off.
Dragonclaw by Kate Forsyth
This book was a total cover buy. I mean, it has a dragon, mountains, a forest, animals and a red-head (like me), how could I not? I ended up absolutely loving this whole series, I read it in high school, and it will always be one of my favourites.
Broken by Kelley Armstrong
I love the simplicity of this cover. I love the snow and the twilight colours and that it seems both peaceful and spooky. Again, totally not biased by how much I love the characters in this series.
This is by no means an exhaustive list of pretty book covers that I own, just the top ten that I thought of for this post, and there were still a few that were really close. It was hard to pick between some books, but I also wanted a variety of styles. Of course everyone has different tastes, so I'd love to hear what you all think of these book covers. Do any of these make you want to go out and buy the book? What are some of your favourite book covers? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks to Jana for organising the TTT every week! This was really fun to do.
EDIT: I forgot the weird and wonderful covers of Discworld!
Nice list. Not totally my taste, but they are attractive.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Of course everyone has different tastes for everything, especially books 😊
DeleteYou do own some very pretty books for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
Thanks 😊 I like your take on the weekly theme!
DeleteOooh, these are gorgeous! I love the Dragonclaw one (but then again ... it has dragon in the name, so of course I do). And yes to the Discworld covers! They feel so random sometimes, but they're also really pretty. I think my favorite is the Death trilogy omnibus I have, because the cover with Death is just so lovely.
ReplyDeleteYes! That's basically why I picked up Dragonclaw in the first place, but I loved the series. It was really hard to pick my favourite Discworld cover, there's so many to choose from.
DeleteAh, these are all so pretty! I tend to favor all-out fantasy covers. I think my favorite on this list is Dreamer's Pool, with Dragonclaw coming in a close second!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I totally could have done a post of just all fantasy covers, but I wanted to mix it up a little 😊
DeleteI don't care for all of these, but some of them are very pretty. Lots of bright, vibrant colors - I like that.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Thanks 😊
DeleteSo many pretty covers! I LOVE the Mercy series, and I think all of the cover art for those books is amazing. Great list!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It was hard to pick my favourite Mercy cover 😊
DeleteThe Mercy Thompson series covers are SO pretty! Jaymin Eve has amazing covers in general, so does Annette Marie ♡
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Guild Codex covers! Did you know Jaymin has an exclusive cover designer?
DeleteI love the Discworld series. Great list!
